because the effective mass of the electron is about one third of hole...
since scientist couldnt directly calculate the mass
of electron moving at high speed....they formulated
effective mass..
its calculation is simple....they apply some force on electron and see its acceleration....then m=f/a....newtons 2nd law comes into pic...
