power cunsumption


pmos consumes less power or nmos? clarify?

I guess the answer is: when the NMOS is on the load capacitance dischargees through the NMOS and thus no energy is drawn from the power supply. thus the power dissipation is less while in PMOS, the capacitor is charging and draws the energy from the power supply, thus the power consumption is more in PMOS rather than NMOS
As the mobility of an electron is 2 or 3 times greater than a hole, the transconductance of NMOS is 2 or 3 times greater than PMOS. Hence NMOS consumes less power for the same amount of current.
