1x2 MUX for serial communication devices

hi, i am using more than one serial communication devices for my application. But the problem is i am not having those much of ports. so i decided to use MUX to connect all those serial communication devices at one end and another end is connected to actual serial port (RS232) of the system. But the problem is how do i connect those devices to MUX and to RS232 for PC. where do i get the connection diagram. if i do so how do i send the control signal to select device from RS232 coz i have only one "Transmit (TX)" signal to RS232. ur suggestions in this problem solving and any replys are highly encouragable. Thanking u.

hi venkatesh, Thank u very much for ur reply. yes i have rs232 to ttl and ttl to rs232. i do try to solve the problem with both motorola mc1609 and Analog Multiplexers. I hope u do reply me if i get any problem in that. Thanking u once again. regards, Embedded.
as i said b4 analog mux is apt for that.you use one ttl to rs232 converter if you have ttl logic for control .hope u know the working of analog mux.so on giving -Vmax to nmos and +vmax to pmos the mux is shut off and on the other way that is on.go ahead embedded.
Hi embedded, you have to use RS232 to TTL for compatibilty with the logics od digital gates if the gates cannot be used for RS232 .also you have to use TTL to RS232 again for compatibilty with the logic of serial port.Mc1609 from motorola and other chips are used for the conversion.I am not sure about the number. The best way to circumvent this problem is to use the versatile ANALOG MULTIPLEXER (a pass transmission gate). The control inputs shold be +Vmax and -vmax(should be RS232).
