Interview questions

Sorry bout the last post but here are the questions that were asked. Lets discuss them Q1) 1) Consider a NMOS where drain is connected to Vdd and output is taken from source(Vo1). Input applied to gate. 2) Consider a PMOS where source is connected to Vdd and output is taken from drain(Vo2). Input applied to gate. if Vdd=5v, tell me what are Vo1 and Vo2 when Vin is 5V, 3V, 2.5V and 0V(calculate for each transistor) Q2) Consider 2 NMOS transistors stacked one on another as Q1(bottom transistor, Vb1 is the gate input) and Q2(top transistor, Vb2 is the gate input). The drain of Q2 is connected to Vdd and the threshold voltage of the transistor is 0.7V. Vb1=1v, Vb2=2v, When Vdd change from 5V to 0V, draw the current flow through the transistors VS Vdd. Thanks

how to compined the turbo decoder with vlsi coding?
for question number 2 find out when the transistors switches from stauration to linear region. Once you do that all you have to do is draw a V-I characterstic curve for the transistors.
1. assuming source/drain(appropriate) is open ckt i.e not connected to mild resistances. FOr NMOS: Vo1=Vin-Vt if vin>vt else the souce would be floating say 0v under ideal cond. For PMOS: Vo2= 5 if 5-Vin >=Vt else floating so that would be 0,5,5,5 under ideal cond. Vt being small is supposed. 2.for 5 4 3v etc find out the regions of operation and fnd out the currents.there shd be a better way to handle this tedious problem.the above way is hectic
