Considering a 2:1 mux , what will be the output F if the Select (sel) is "X" ?

Hi hemanth,
X is not a state.Be clear that it may be 0 or 1 i.e it is either 0 or 1 but not any other.
same is the case with z also,but has different meaning.answer to your question is simple-it selects
i0 or i1.in verilog if u use a ternary operator to medel the mux ,on simulation both i/ps will be evaluated and op will be asserted according to that.
if both are same then no probs else the signal with higher strength is delivered else x would be given out.
