Hi,

Can u tell me about front end and back end design in VLSI and also please tell me about different tools used in front end and back end design process.

Atleast give me links from where i can get it.

Tasks performed by Back End VLSI design
engineers are :
Mask generation.
Wafer processing.
Packaging.
Testing.
Delivery of samples.
Final mass production.
In Back End VLSI Design process IC
manufacturer (foundry) handles most Back End tasks.

In Front-End VLSI Design process, a design engineer performs all the aspects of design before handing the design over to a foundry for manufacture in GDSII (Graphic Design System II) format.

The last step of Front End VLSI design is the first step of Back End VLSI design.
